Sales & Follow-Up

Mark an opportunity won or lost

Record a customer’s final sales decision while keeping the deal history.

Last updated

1. Open the deal#

Open Opportunities, choose the pipeline and select the correct opportunity. Check the customer and deal before changing its outcome.

2. Set Status#

In Opportunity Details, open Status. Choose Won when the deal meets your team’s acceptance criteria, or Lost when the customer has declined. Add a lost reason if your account asks for one.

3. Update and find it again#

Select Update. If the deal disappears from the board, change the Status filter to Won or Lost to check the saved outcome. It may simply be hidden from the Open view.

Example: Accepted versus undecided#

  • Accepted: The customer has agreed to the work under your team’s sales criteria. Record Won.
  • Declined: The customer tells you they chose another provider. Record Lost and the reason when available.
  • Undecided: The customer has not replied. Keep following your team’s follow-up process rather than assuming the deal is lost.

Won does not itself record a payment. Check payment records separately. Outcome changes may start configured follow-up, so use the customer’s confirmed decision.

Changed the wrong deal?#

Reopen it using the appropriate status filter. Correct the status if you have permission, and tell your usual Hanna Group contact if automated follow-up may have started.
